Book Club and Other Works
It’s Week 2 of the Lit With Charles Book Club and we’re all zipping through “In Cold Blood” by Truman Capote. OK some of you may be struggling but I would urge you to keep at it. If you put in your ten pages a day, you’ll be done by the end of the month. Yesterday, I posted some “surround sound” material on this platform to help enhance the reading material. There’s a Spotify playlist with the greatest hits of 1959 to help you get in the temporal mood. There are articles on Truman Capote, on Kansas, on his work with Harper Lee. Basically, a bit of intel to help you get a bit more context into what you’re reading.
On my podcast this week, I published my interview with Robert P. Kolker and Nathan Abrams, authors of the fantastic new biography of the director Stanley Kubrick, “Kubrick: An Odyssey”. For anyone who admires Kubrick’s work, this is probably a must-read (and the episode is a must-listen!)
